Washington Receives $25,000 Grant

Janus Youth Programs’ Washington State Shelter & Outreach Services has received a $25,000 grant from the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington in support of its Youth Action Board (YAB) – an initiative that gives a voice to youth ages 12-24 who have lived experience with homelessness or housing instability in Clark County. (In 2022, Clark County was selected to join the Anchor Community Initiative through A Way Home Washington which was spearheaded by the Council for the Homeless.)

Foundation funds will support YAB outreach events, including outreach to the disproportionate number of BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ youth that experience homelessness. Funds will also compensate YAB members for their time and effort in shaping community policies and services, promoting youth leadership and implementing youth-led plans to reduce youth homelessness.
